From Pastor Mike
Gentlemen,
We have many decisions to make about life and ministry. I watched a leadership video this morning by Dr. John Maxwell and the statement was made, “In leadership there are no insignificant things.” Our church theme this year is “Whatever It Takes.” I pray you and I are willing to step up, grow in our ministry, and be willing to do just that, “Whatever It Takes.” There have been churches in our county that have done Judgment House before, but it hasn’t been done in 15+years, if our information is accurate. We do live in a religious region but that doesn’t mean the people we live by or work and play with are Christ followers. Judgment House can give us an opportunity to see them come to know Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. Our church will be gloriously impacted should we choose to take this leap of faith concerning Judgment House. I believe our church will be drawn together in unity should we accept this outreach ministry. The potential to see hundreds of lives eternal changes is certain, should you help lead out in this undertaking. The staff and I are “all in” when it comes to Judgment House. There is an air of excitement and anticipation. Our conversations in staff meetings have revolved around the thoughts that our people are saying, “We’re here. We’re ready. What’s next?” I believe Judgment House can be that “what’s next?”.
Below you will find a few thoughts about Judgment House from Dusty and Bill. Feel free to contact them personally if you have further thoughts or questions. We have also provided a video from Rev. Michael Bowen, pastor of East Lumberton Baptist Church. Below that video (7-8 minutes long) you will find the link to the youtube videos ELBC did of their Judgment House the last 3 years. I hope you will watch at least one of these videos as well. After you have done this, we ask that you pray. Simply ask God what He wants with an attitude that as King Jesus reveals what He desires your response will be “Yes Lord, Whatever it takes.”
Serving Him,
Pastor Mike

Dear Deacons,
I want to take a few minutes to share my heart behind the desire from God for doing Judgement House at Highland Baptist Church. I have been to several JH's with youth groups over the years. It has been a amazing event that they asked to go to each year and the group has grown spiritually every time. God didn't ask us to stay comfortable in our realm of people and our own events to share the gospel but reach out. Most of the time we are scared to reach out, including me. JH is a awesome opportunity for our church to get outside the box and truly seek to see lives changed for eternity. It will also bring a whole new realm of Spirit to the church. An opportunity to see more lives saved in two weekends than most people see in a lifetime. To see a body work together and unity for a event that will change the city and county. I am ready to be a part of HBC that will make a difference in this county for the Kingdom of God in a way that has not been seen in a while.
I understand it will cost money, about 100-125 people, and lots of hard work, but I am all in for Judgement House at Highland. We have a perfect facility, and location to reach thousands and thousands of people. I am probably just as scared or nervous about this event as you are, but I truly believe this is an event for Highland this year.
I have talked to and looked into whether we have time to get it together this year and I feel this is something we can do for sure. Pastor Michael Bowen told me he was willing to come up and walk through with us and help us in any way possible. I truly feel this is the year to kick off Judgement House in Stanly County. Thanks for your prayers and time.
